'Georgia Rule' Sucks

In retrospect, when a movie that you thought was supposed to be a drama is previewed in a comedic format - it aint gonna be good. Even the cover of the DVD shows the three stars (Jane Fonda, Felicity Huffman and Lindsay bLohan) smiling. It's almost like the producers realised it wasn't going to come off for whatever reason, (and this is supposedly the film where LaLohan was skipping in and out of rehab - that's a pretty good one) so they resorted to marketing tricks to get people in, hoping that they would then find the screenplay thought provoking and touching. And it wasn't.
Jane Fonda was good (certainly better than she was in Monster In Law), Felicity Huffman was good ( she can do anything, can't she? Be tough, fragile, Earth Mother, a man, now she does a great alcoholic), Dermot Mulroney was good, Lindsey Lohan was painful and she needs to cover her legs UP (alright, Mother Theresa that's enough from you).
It sounds like I'm really just down on LiLo, but I liked Parent Trap and Freaky Friday and Mean Girls. She just seems to be too cool for school now, and quite frankly she's not good enough as an actor to get away with all the rubbish. She's not good enough as an actor to do this film - it's the great supports that carry it and she lets them all down. Wow, now that's workplace pressure. This will be a hard film for her to look back on and see what she did to it. But I'm sure she's not the first actor to have such an infamous resume.
The best line in the movie was when Jane Fonda's character , Georgia, finds her daughter Lilly (Felicity Huffman) sitting in her room drunk, with her long hair hacked off on the floor around her:
Georgia: Oh, you cut your hair.
Lilly (deadpan): It was getting in the way of my drinking.
That was funny. Two lines. Ouch. Beware of previews, I say.
